This zine explores the farm to table philosophy within the context of the urban environment.

The inspiration behind this project came from my own curiosity regarding the origins of my food and the stories behind the food I buy and eat. This curiosity lead me to the Old Strathcona Farmer’s market where local growers bring their produce to sell directly to customers every Saturday.

Parsnip is an indie zine created as part of a project entitled The Spaces Between. The zine I have created explores farm-to-table philosophy within the urban environment.

This zine includes interviews and profiles of two specific vendors of an year round market, as well as original photography.

Parsnip provides a platform for communication; a way to bridge the spaces between farmer and urban dweller, producer and consumer.
