Tactile Memories
tactile memories of an experienced youth
These pieces function as a form of visual communication that allows me to share my experience and memories with others in a tactile and dynamic way. The pieces are printed on tracing paper to mimic the fragile, semi-transparent nature of memories.
The textual elements are short recounts of some of the memories that I noticed myself repeatedly thinking about. Within the text, nothing is capitalized aside from the names of places. I chose to do this in order to keep the interruptions of conventions to a minimum in order to have the text read as a stream of conscious.
Through this project, I sought out to acknowledge some of the memories from my experience of youth in order to give a sense of permeance and substance to a time in my life that is fleeting.
